four days after hurricane sandy devastated this community. we are standing next to what was the boardwalk that used to stretch along the beach. the boardwalk now takes up much of the street. you can see it on top of cars that were part here. residents tell us about 5 feet of water poured down the street on monday. today, you see debris in giant piles in front of almost every house. let's go into one apartment that was completely destroyed on monday during the storm. >> i am 51 years old. monday night, i was sitting at the computer. i felt some water at my feet, i went to the back room to get my mop. the bedroom door was closed but the broom and fill with water. i opened the door and the water hit me. i opened up the store and the backyard had filled up with 3 feet of water, and that came in, so i was caught in from the front and back. >> what were your thoughts entering your apartment for the first time after the storm? >> my first thought was, am i going to be able to start over? it is a little difficult when you are 50-something years old.

these are some of the streams we felt from sandy. the blizzard in garrett county dumped 29 inches of snow. wind gusts at 79 mph in anne arundel county. 12.5 inch of rain in easton. the storm approached ocean city on monday. all kinds of extreme weather here. standing is now the the canada and moving farther away. temperatures cooler than normal. thankfully no more rain today but almost at the 9 inch mark as we end the month. not a record. we had over 9 inches in october of 20 -- 2005. 46 degrees in an ocean city. low 40's as you head west. additional snow may fall overnight and into parts of allegany and garrett counties. they are under a winter weather advisory. pennsylvania, garrett county, west virginia, into tomorrow morning. slippery conditions possible. hear, clouds. 36 suburbs. 34 downtown. to borrow the cloud cover will begin to break up a little bit. -- tomorrow, the cloud cover will begin to break up a little bit. breezy thursday and friday but those northwest winds. in the back of cold air keeping temperatures below normal

we'll see what happens if sandy overtakes katrina. itis possible. some of the cost and damage in our area. this is a different camera angle. that is a brand new inlet similar to the inlet that was cut in ocean city back in the 1933 great chesapeake bay hurricane. this is route one in delaware, kind of an ominous looking sign and here's the work being done by armies of front end loaders trying to clear that out and. and then we got snow here. awesome skiing for early november. flood states 23 and a half on the conowingo. we never got there with this storm. tonight we got to 18 .07 so not quite the flood state. look at the overall set up, havre degrashgs right now there's not much rain in the forecast so it should be better. mostly cloudy today and tonight under a mostly cloudy sky. it's 48 degrees with a little wind. sun set 6:05 and that's going be key for the next few days. these will be the last late sun sets. don't forget to fall back as we go toward sunday because we have the end to day light saving time so we'll knock this back sunday. that's a
